Bc. Rudolf Sakáč: Educator, Viticulturist, and Culinary Bridge-Builder

Based in the historic Medzibodrožský region of Slovakia—where the Bodrog and Tisa rivers meet—Rudolf Sakáč serves as a dedicated educator at the Secondary Vocational School of Techniques and Crafts. Located in the village of Pribeník, his workplace is nestled within the 200-year-old Majláth family manor, standing near the borders of Slovakia, Hungary, and Ukraine.

Expertise & Education

As a Master of Vocational Education, Rudolf instructs the next generation in:

Agriculture & Fruit Growing

Winemaking (Viticulture)

Gastronomy

The Tokaj Heritage

His school manages 5.8 hectares of vineyards within the prestigious Tokaj wine region. Each year, they produce classic varieties including Furmint, Lipovina, and Yellow Muscat, as well as the renowned Putňov wines (3, 4, 5, and 6 Puttonyos).

Rudolf also plays a key role in the school’s annual International Wine Tasting Competition. This massive event hosts approximately 100 experts who sample over 1,600 wine entries. The competition is held at the historic manor of Prince František Rákóczi II, born in 1676 in the nearby village of Borša.

His Motto: “Food is Love”

“Food is more than sustenance; it is a universal language of love that brings people together and provides security, comfort, and mental well-being. To see that ‘glitter’ in a person’s eyes after a meal is my personal Michelin star—a value that no award can ever surpass.

Gastronomy creates lifelong partnerships and friendships that span regions, states, and continents. Instead of building barriers, let us build bridges of friendship. By honoring our ancestors and sharing our culinary traditions, we move the culture of gastronomy forward across the world.”
